Yakima Bears News Release

(Pasco, WA) - Ian Harrington pitched a solid six innings, and the Yakima Bears walked 12 times en route to an 8-3 victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils Thursday night at Gesa Stadium.

The Bears took an early 2-0 lead in the first on back-to-back two-out RBI singles by Ramon Castillo and Jimmy Principe, who went 2-4 with a run and an RBI. The Dust Devils scored as well in the first on Jordan Pacheco's RBI single.

The Bears found themselves up 8-1 after six innings thanks to a statistical anomaly, as they batted around and scored six runs without getting a hit. Yakima scored six runs in the sixth thanks to seven walks, six wild pitches, four passed balls, and a hit-batsman.

Harrington scattered eight hits over six innings, allowing two runs with one walk and two strikeouts, and improved to 5-5 on the season. Wade Miley allowed a run in two innings of relief, and Bryan Woodall pitched a scoreless ninth.

The Bears host the Dust Devils Friday night at 7:05 p.m., with Sean Morgan on the mound for Yakima.
