U18 Update: Tolchinsky & Russia Perfect So Far

After six days, and four games of competition at the 2013 World Under 18 Hockey Championship, Team Russia will head into quarter-final action undefeated.

The host nation opened the tournament with a 4-3 win over Team USA last Thursday and has since posted wins against Finland, Latvia and the Czech Republic while they have never trailed in any point of their last three games.

Russia and Canada sported identical records to finish seeded first in their respective groups.

Hounds' forward SERGEY TOLCHINSKY rounded out the preliminary round with 1 goal and 1 assist (2 pts) to go along with a +5 rating and posted the game-winning goal over the Czech Republic.

The Moscow, RUS product has 10 shots on goal in the tournament thus far (3rd most on team) while averaging 17 minutes and 40 seconds of play each game.

GOALS FOR: 22

GOALS AGAINST: 8

UP NEXT: Tolchinsky and Team Russia will take on Team Germany in one of the four quarter-final contests set for Thursday.

Tournament semi-finals will play out on Friday with the Bronze and Medal games slated for Sunday.
