Tyler Cook to Participate in NBA All Star Next up Game

SALT LAKE CITY - The NBA G League announced today that Salt Lake City Stars center Tyler Cook has been added to Team Scoot for the NBA G League Next Up game on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center at 5 p.m. MT, to replace the G League Ignite's center Eric Mika.

Cook (6-8, 255, Iowa) headed into the All-Star break averaging a double-double with 16.9 points on 63.2 percent shooting, and 10.4 rebounds, along with 3.2 assists. Cook contributed two double-doubles during the Stars six-game winning streak (Jan. 30-Feb. 11), helping Salt Lake City to a 12-9 record, during the regular season. Salt Lake City now stands in fifth place in the Western Conference with Cook ranking third in the G League in offensive rebounds (59), and fifth in total rebounds (176).

Here is a closer look at the week for Cook:

Feb. 8 vs. Greensboro: Gave an impressive double-double performance with 24 points and 18 rebounds in an Eastern Conference 128-119 win vs. the Swarm.

Feb 10 & 11 vs. Lakeland: Recorded a double-double on 23 points (10-of-10 FG) to go with 12 rebounds, and five assists in a 124-115 win against the Skyforce.

Feb. 13 vs. Sioux Falls: Logged 26 points (13-of-17 FG), along with seven rebounds and four assists in a 131-125 victory against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

The 2023 NBA G League Next Up game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 1:00 p.m. MT and be available live on NBA TV from the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City as part of NBA All-Star Weekend. Two team captains, Luka Garza & Scoot Henderson, selected a 12-man roster from the 24-player field during the NBA G League Next Up Game Draft. The 24-player field included G League players selected by a fan vote and the League.
