
Tyler Cook Signs 10-Day Contract with the Brooklyn Nets

ORLANDO, FL - Tyler Cook of the Iowa Wolves, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, has signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets. Cook is Iowa's first call-up of the season, and the first since Amile Jefferson during the 2017-18 season.
In 8 games for Iowa this season, Cook (6-8, 255) averaged 20.8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 33.3 minutes per game. On February 10, 2021 he scored an NBA G League career-high 31 points against the Long Island Nets. At the time of his signing, Cook's 20.8 points per game was 7th in the NBA G League and his 9.6 rebounds was ranked 14th overall in the NBA G League.
Iowa received Cook's returning player rights on January 8, 2021 in a trade with the Oklahoma City Blue, along with the 17th overall pick in the 2021 NBA G League Draft in exchange for Iowa's original 7th overall pick and the returning player rights to James Webb III.
Cook has 13 games of NBA experience and has spent time with the Denver Nuggets and Cleveland Cavaliers. He holds regular season averages of 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 4.2 minutes, while garnering shooting percentages of 66.7% from the field and 87.5% at the free throw line. Cook most recently spent the 2020 NBA Preseason with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The St. Louis, MO native played three seasons at the University of Iowa, averaging 14.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 28.9 minutes per game over 93 games (92 starts).
