Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA- It was "Big Lebowski" night at San Manuel Stadium on Thursday and while The Dude may abide, the Lancaster JetHawks did not as they defeated Inland Empire 5-2. The JetHawks were powered by two-run homers from Chase McDonald and Derek Fisher as Lancaster took the series two-games-to-one.

McDonald hammered his 23rd homer of the season in the second inning off Victor Alcantara (6-10) to give Lancaster a 2-0 lead. It was his second homer of the series. Inland Empire (57-57, 22-22) answered with a run in the bottom of the second against starter Akeem Bostick on an Angel Rosa RBI double to cut the deficit to 2-1. Bostick (4-4) worked out of the jam however by striking out the side. The JetHawks (59-57, 22-24) made it 4-2 when Derek Fisher slammed his second homer in as many nights and his 15th of the season when he jumped on an Alcantara offering out to right field.

In the bottom of the fourth, Kody Eaves led off with a triple to right center field for the 66ers, his team best ninth of the year. He scored on Roberto Baldoquin's RBI single, Baldoquin went 2-for-4 in the game. That was as close as Inland Empire would get. Mott Hyde added an RBI single for the JetHawks in the sixth, one of his three hits in the game, to make it 5-2.

Michael Freeman earned his second save of the season as he tossed the final three frames for the JetHawks. He allowed just one hit and struck out two. Angel Rosa had and Eric Aguilera each had two-hit nights for the Sixers. Caleb Adams extended his hit streak to 12 games.

Inland Empire opens a series at High Desert on Friday at 7:05pm. It can be heard live at 66ers.com.
