Halifax Mooseheads News Release

Halifax Mooseheads rookie forward Lou Levesque and goalie Mathis Rousseau were among the players who earned a spot on the QMJHL Team of the Week - thanks to solid performances during the period ranging from September 25 to October 1, 2023.

Levesque and Rousseau were huge factors in helping the Mooseheads sweep their weekend road trip in New Brunswick with a 3-1 win in Moncton on Saturday followed by a 9-1 thrashing of the Titan on Sunday afternoon in Acadie-Bathurst. Levesque, a 17-year-old rookie, scored the first goal of his career in Saturday's victory as he opened the scoring in the contest. Rousseau made his season debut after attending NHL camp with the Arizona Coyotes and was named the second star in Moncton with 26 saves on 27 shots.

On Sunday, Levesque had a huge game by scoring another goal and adding three assists. He has found great chemistry on a line with Mathieu Cataford and Logan Crosby. Rousseau was rock solid once again with 38 saves on 39 shots to run his record to 2-0-0-0 with a goals against average of 1.00 and a sparkling save percentage of 0.970%. Rousseau was also named to the CHL Team of the Week.
