Mooseheads on Home Ice this Weekend

Halifax, NS - Your Halifax Mooseheads will return home to Scotiabank Centre ice for a pair of games this Friday and Saturday when they entertain the Victoriaville Tigres and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

The Herd host Victoriaville at 7pm on Friday while the Armada visit on Saturday at 7pm. The first 3,000 fans at the game on Saturday will receive free Mooseheads fridge magnet schedules.

Halifax picked up a pair of victories over the weekend to even the record at 2-and-2 for the season and were led by rookie Lou Levesque's two goals and three assists and goalie Mathis Rousseau's nearly perfect return to the crease following a stint at Arizona Coyotes camp. Both players were named to the QMJHL team of the week and Rousseau was also given a nod on the CHL team of the week as he stopped 66 of the 68 shots he faced.

The Tigres will come to town as one of the top contenders in the league this season. Anchored by the top goaltending tandem in the league featuring reigning CHL goalie of the year Nathan Darveau and 2022 second overall pick - Gabriel D'Aigle, Victoriaville is a strong defensive club. Anaheim Ducks prospect Noah Warren was acquired from Gatineau in June to bolster an already talented group on the blueline, while the forwards include high scoring over-agers Tommy Cormier and Max Pellerin. Expect the Tigres to do some damage across the league this season.

The Armada are continuing a rebuilding phase this season and have an exciting young rookie in forward Mateo Nobert. He was the third overall pick in June's draft and already has a couple of goals on his resume. Blainville also picked defenceman Xavier Villeneuve in the first round from the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 15U program. The Armada got off to a hot start at 3-and-1 which included an impressive 4-1 victory over Victoriaville on Sunday.
