Two Freedom Players Named to All Independent League Team

Florence, KY - Kelly Hunt and Angel Molina were named to the 2008 Baseball America All Independent League Team. Molina was named to the All Independent Leagues Team for his work in the outfield while Hunt was named to the second team for his time at third base.
Molina led the Freedom with a .327 average in 2008. He split his time between the outfield and first base where he committed only 5 errors. He was second with the Freedom with 22 homeruns. Molina was also the 2008 Frontier League All - Star game MVP and Home Run Derby Champion.
Hunt led the Frontier League with 26 homeruns. He also led the Freedom with 73 RBI's and was second with a .310 average. Hunt was also named to the 2008 All - Star Team.
"We are very proud of both individuals for representing the Freedom in such a positive manner and hope that they will continue to have successful careers outside of the Freedom," said Freedom General Manager Kari Rumfield. Both Hunt and Molina have since aged out of the Frontier League.
The Freedom have also acquired 1B/OF Nick Salotti from the Evansville Otters in a trade for OF Justin Randall. Salotti will be returning to the Freedom in 2009 after compiling a .338 average in 2008 with the Freedom. With Evansville he batted a .255 in 37 games.

Florence Freedom is a member of the Frontier League, a 12-team Independent Professional Baseball League established in 1993. The Freedom play a 96 game schedule with 48 home games between late May and early September.
