Reno Silver Sox News Release

Two bad innings kept the Reno Silver Sox from giving the Yuma Scorpions their first loss of the second half, as the Scorpions beat the Silver Sox 10 - 3.

Silver Sox starter Nick Moran pitched seven badly needed innings as the bullpen has been running thin. Moran allowed four runs off of eight hits while striking out four. All of the runs off of Moran came in the third inning. One of the two innings that the Silver Sox wish they could have back.

The Silver Sox however didn't fade away and eventually cut the lead in half by the sixth inning. In the fifth inning, 1B Mike Done hit his fourth homerun in as many games. Done finished the night 1-4, with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. The Silver Sox would add one more run in the sixth inning when 3B Carlos Madrid singled in CF Victor Hall. Hall had the best night for the Silver Sox, 2-4 with a triple and 1 run scored.

The second bad inning for the Silver Sox came in the eighth when the Scorpions tallied six runs off of Silver Sox reliever Josh Evans. Relieving Evans in the ninth was Jason Martinez who pitched a one hit ninth.

The Silver Sox were able to add one more run in the ninth when Madrid scored on a groundout, but that would be it for the Silver Sox.

The Silver Sox look to avoid the sweep tonight as they play the final game against the Scorpions in this three game series. For tickets to this, or any other Silver Sox game, visit the Silver Sox ticket booth before the game. T-shirt Night!
