Two appointments to the administrative headquarters of the QMJHL

BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, December 1st, 2011 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League commissioner Gilles Courteau announced today changes to the organization's structure.
Photi Sotiropoulos has been appointed to the position of Communications Director at the QMJHL office in Boucherville. As the QMJHL Communications Director, he will be responsible for media relations, including interview requests, website, social media, broadcasting, and publications. Photi Sotiropoulos joined the QMJHL team as communications and events coordinator in early 2011. Prior to that, he was employed as a consultant with Bombardier Aerospace, was a Manager with the National Hockey League and worked as a Producer and Director for various local and national television and radio stations. He has a Bachelors degree in communication studies and studied education and new media at the Masters level.
Karl Jahnke has been appointed to the position of Director of Marketing and Corporate Business Development. He will be responsible for marketing initiatives, business development and management of corporate partnerships and agreements. Karl Jahnke started working for the QMJHL in the spring of 2005 as Director of Communications. Marketing functions were added to his job description in 2008. Previously, he worked three years at the National Hockey League in the registry department. He holds a Bachelors of Law and a Masters degree in Sports Administration.
These changed take effect immediately.
