
Twin Cities All-Star Team Selected For Saints International Baseball Showcase

A collection of the most talented Twin Cities high school baseball players will take on the World's best Under 18 teams from the United States, Canada and Chinese Taipei during the Saints International Baseball Showcase July 16-18.
The Twin Cities High School All-Star Team was chosen by the Saint Paul Pioneer Press Sports Department and nearly every powerhouse school in the area is represented. Tartan High School in Oakdale is represented by three players while Eden Prairie High School, Centennial High School, Eagan High School and St. Thomas Academy are represented by two players each. The team is managed by former St. Paul Saints standout and St. Olaf star Brian Sprout, currently the head coach at East Ridge. The Twin Cities All-Star team is as follows:

The Showcase, July 16, 17 and 18 at Midway Stadium, serves as a warm-up for teams participating in the 2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada (www.worldbaseball2010.com). Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and current teammates Michael Cuddyer and Denard Span each played in this prestigious Championship.
Fans and media are invited to meet the four teams prior to Saturday's games at a lunch event at Buffalo Wild Wings in Roseville, MN. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will last until 1:00 p.m. Coaches and players will be available for interviews and autographs.
Midway Stadium will play host to the three-day event that will feature five total games. Each team participating consists of players 18 years old or younger. This is the first time the St. Paul Saints are hosting the Showcase.
