Turner Reassigned to Gwinnett

Rockford, Ill- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Sunday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League reassigned defenseman Brennan Turner to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was recalled to the IceHogs prior to Wednesday's game in Peoria. Turner appeared in one game for Rockford during Week 19 and registered a plus/minus rating of +2 in Saturday 4-3 win over the Rochester Americans.

The stint in Rockford was Turner's second in 2008-09. Overall, Turner has an assist and is a +1 in three games with the IceHogs with five minutes of penalty time. Tuner also appeared in four games with Rockford in 2007-08.

Turner, 23, has played in 44 ECHL games, 29 with the now defunct Fresno Falcons and 15 with the Gwinnett Gladiators. In Fresno, Turner tallied two goals and two assists. With the Gladiators, the defenseman has chipped in six helpers.

Next Home Game: Monday, Feb. 16 vs. San Antonio Rampage. The IceHogs and Rampage rumble at 2:05 p.m. It's the IceHogs second matinee game of the season as the team presents another Kids' Day. All kids 18-and-under can purchase a ticket for $5. The IceHogs also welcome the Zooperstars to the game and kids can register to win some great prizes like an iPod Shuffle and gaming systems.
