Old Time Hockey: The Tulsa Oilers will take a skate down memory lane this week for Turn Back the Clock Weekend. On Tuesday night the Oilers host the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:05 on a QuikTrip Tuesday, with ticket vouchers available at area QuikTrip stores. Turn Back the Clock weekend starts Friday against the Colorado Eagles at 7:35 p.m. and continues Saturday against the Lubbock Cotton Kings at 7:35 p.m. Groups of 10 or more people can get tickets for half price this weekend, and there will be special concession prices for both games as well. The busy weekend concludes with a road game in Lubbock Sunday at 5:05 p.m. in a game that can be heard on KRVT AM 1270 and via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com.
Keep On Truckin': One lucky fan on Tuesday night will win a new truck courtesy of the Tulsa World. Fans at the game will be chosen in a drawing to receive keys and one lucky fan will have the key that starts the truck.
Split Decision: The Oilers won one and lost one last weekend, winning 5-4 in Oklahoma City Friday night, and losing 4-2 Saturday night in Amarillo. Weather conditions caused the Oilers bus to take 15 and a half hours to return to Tulsa Sunday afternoon after Saturday night's game.
First Impressions: Were good ones from Bill Newson, Kurtis Dulle and Jamie Lovell, recently acquired from Rio Grande Valley. In Friday's win, Newson had two goals, Dulle had three assists and Lovell had an assist. Newson also had a goal Saturday night, and Dulle added another assist.
Star Sniper: Mike Wiggins had a goal and assist in helping the Northern
Conference all-stars to a 9-6 win in the Dodge CHL all-star game. Kurtis
