Tulsa's Gary Steffes Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (October 29th, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Tulsa Oilers forward Gary Steffes has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending October 28th, 2012.

Steffes and the Oilers had a busy weekend, with three games in less than a 72-hour period. Steffes scored a total of five points with two goals (including one game winner) and three assists which greatly helped his team to earn point in all three games (2-0-1). He also carried a +4 plus/minus in the three games.

The Grand Blanc, Michigan native had a goal and an assist in both Friday's overtime loss to Quad City and Saturday's win in Quad City. He finished the weekend off with an assist in Sunday's win over Fort Worth.

Steffes, 25, is in his third season with the Oilers and his seven points (3-4=7) and +5 plus/minus rating marks the best start in his pro career.
