Trois-Rivieres Ends Jackals Win Streak

The Trois-Rivieres Aigles defeated the New Jersey Jackals 6-3 on Saturday night at Stade Stereo + to even the series at one game a piece.

With the Jackals taking game one of the series on Friday, the Aigles stopped the winning streak at four games.

In the bottom of the first, left fielder Javier Herrera delivered an RBI single to score designated hitter Alexi Colon.

Right fielder Michael Suchy hit a sacrifice fly later in the inning to make it 2-0 Aigles.

Third baseman Taylor Brennan hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth to score Colon.

Suchy followed up with an RBI single to score center fielder Alberth Martinez to give the Aigles a 4-0 lead.

A Sam Dexter RBI single and a Martinez RBI double in the bottom of the sixth pushed the Trois-Rivieres lead to 6-0.

The Jackals would not go down quietly, however.

Right fielder Nolan Meadows hit his fourth home run in the top of the seventh, a solo shot to make it 6-1.

Later, third baseman Gerald Bautista hit an RBI single to score catcher Andy Mocahbee and the lead was sliced to 6-2.

In the eighth, Jackals center fielder David Harris lifted a sacrifice fly to score short stop Carlos Triunfel and the lead was down to 6-3.

The Jackals rallying effort came up short at they collected two hits in the ninth inning against closer Angel Rincon, but could not come across with anymore runs.

The rubber game of the series is set for Sunday, June 17 (Father's Day) at 1:05 P.M.
