New Jersey 8, Trois-Rivieres 1 - Box Score
The visiting Jackals plated five runs in the fourth inning to take control of Sunday's game in Trois-Rivieres, and cruised past the Aigles 8-1. Already leading 2-0, DH Daniel Canela laced an RBI single followed by an RBI double from RF Nolan Meadows. A third run scored when Canela crossed home on a passed ball, and Meadows scored on an RBI single from 2B Rony Cabrera. Cabrera would score the inning's final run when LF Conor Hoffmann doubled him home.
The Jackals banged out 14 hits over the course of the contest, with five players finishing with two hits apiece.
LHP Yasmani Hernandez fired seven shutout innings on the mound, striking out six and working around two hits and two walks.
3B Taylor Brennan drove in Trois-Rivieres' lone run in the loss.
Sussex County 5, Ottawa 4 - Box Score
Despite three runs from the Champions in the top of the ninth, the Miners held on for a 5-4 home win on Sunday afternoon. Already ahead 1-0 in the third, DH Nick Zaharion connected on a two-RBI double to push the lead to 3-0. Though Ottawa would score a run in the fourth, 1B Audy Ciriaco hit an RBI double to maintain a three-run lead. A sacrifice fly by SS Jarred Mederos accounted for the final run of the game for the Miners in the eighth.
RHP Cory Jones struck out three hitters over 8.2 innings to earn the win, and held Ottawa to just one run through eight prior to the Champions' rally. RHP Kenny Koplove recorded the final out for the save.
Ottawa C Mike Blanke homered in defeat.
Salina 4, Quebec 2 - Box Score
The Stockade managed just four hits on Sunday afternoon, but turned it into four runs in a 4-2 road win over the Capitales. CF Michael Hungate opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first, and the lead swelled to 3-0 off of an error in the third. Though Quebec trimmed the lead to 3-2 by the end of the fourth, Salina scored its final run in the eighth when 1B Chris Kwitzer hit a sacrifice fly.
RHP Cody Strayer struck out four over seven innings to earn the win, while RHP Dillon Sunnafrank worked two scoreless innings for the save.
Quebec 2B Lachlan Fontaine had two hits in the loss, while LF James McOwen homered.
Rockland 15, Dominican Republic 1 - Box Score
The Boulders rolled over the Dominican Republic again on Sunday, thrashing the visitors 15-1. Rockland plated six runs in the home half of the first inning to take control early. Already ahead 4-0, Rockland punctuated the inning with a two-RBI double off the bat of 1B Mike Montville. SS JC Rodriguez and 3B Conrad Gregor each homered later in the game, one of three hits for each player. Gregor finished his day with five RBI.
RHP Frank Moscatiello worked five strong innings to earn the win for the Boulders, striking out four Dominican hitters.
SS Henry Castillo was 4-for-4 in defeat for the Dominican Republic.
