Triunfel to Triple-A Tacoma

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. (AUGUST 9, 2011) - The Seattle Mariners have made the following roster move that affects the Jackson Generals roster prior to tonight's series finale with the Birmingham Barons at Regions Park. SS Carlos Triunfel has been promoted Triple-A Tacoma and joins the Rainiers in Round Rock. SS Gabriel Noriega has been added to the Generals roster from A+ High Desert.

. SS Carlos Triunfel (from AA Jackson)

TRIUNFEL, 21, has been promoted to Triple-A Tacoma after playing in 241 games over 3 seasons in Jackson. Triunfel was batting .281, with 6 home runs and 35 RBI in 105 games this season. Carlos had a 22-game on-base streak snapped on Sunday, the longest by a Generals player this season. Triunfel also had a 10-game hitting streak that ended on August 4th, the 3rd longest hitting streak by a Generals player this season.

NORIEGA, 20, joins the Generals and is active for tonight's game against the Barons. Noriega, a native of Venezuala, was batting .266 in 105 games with the Mavericks with 3 home runs and 50 RBI. Noriega had hit safely in 14 of his last 17 games with High Desert batting .381 (24x63) with 15 runs scored, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 11 RBI.

The Generals roster stands at 24 active players, 12 pitchers, 2 catchers, 6 infielders, 4 outfielders and 5 disabled players.
