Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

CHICAGO - Dubuque Fighting Saints forward Tristan Lemyre has been named USHL Forward of the Week for Week 2 of the 2021-22 season. Lemyre's dominant four-point night against the Green Bay Gamblers tied a single-game high in his Fighting Saints career, and helped the Saints win convincingly on Saturday night, 7-1.

Lemyre, 20, was instrumental in helping the team bounce back from an early goal against. Just 29 seconds after allowing the opening goal, Lemyre had the primary assist on the tying marker from Mikey DeAngelo, and three minutes later, picked up the primary assist on the game-winning goal from Kenny Connors in the first period. His third assist of the night was a primary assist on Axel Kumlin's power play goal in the second period.

"I'm honored to receive this distinction from the league," Lemyre said. "I worked really hard in the offseason to put myself in a position to have a big year."

The Quebec native would add a goal, his second in as many games, to put the exclamation point on an offensive romp over the Gamblers. He finished the night with six shots on goal, and a +3 rating.

"Tristan came back to Dubuque in excellent shape," said team GM Kalle Larsson. "He's a leader both on and off the ice and we look for him to continue his strong play all season long."

Lemyre is committed to the University of Denver. In 53 games as a Fighting Saint, he has scored 15 goals and 27 assists, good for 42 points.
