Trio of Regiment draft picks invited to Canada U17 Camp

St. John's, NL - The Newfoundland Regiment are pleased to share their three 1st round selections from the 2025 QMJHL Entry Draft, Ben Veitch, Quinn Norman and Phenwick MacLean, have all been invited to the Team Canada Under 17 Development Camp taking place this weekend in Oakville, Ontario.

The pair of Newfoundlanders (Ben Veitch and Quinn Norman) were selected with the fifth and sixth overall picks in the first round last month in Quebec City before the Regiment picked Bedford, Nova Scotia native Phenwick MacLean just a couple spots later at 8th overall.

All three Regiment rookies will be looking to earn a spot on Canada's roster for the U17 World Challenge taking place in Truro, Nova Scotia later this fall. The tournament features two Canadian teams and four international entries in a tournament that looks to showcase "future stars of the game ‚¬Â.

Team Canada selection Camp gets underway July 19 with a series of intersquad games on the schedule.

The puck drops for the inaugural season of Regiment hockey on September 18 at the Mary Brown's Centre vs. the defending QMJHL Champion Moncton Wildcats. Secure your full-season or partial-season tickets now at mbcentre.ca.
