Hartford Athletic News Release
HARTFORD, Conn. - Trinity Health Stadium will welcome 2022 Jamaica Premier League Champions Harbour View FC to play a friendly match against Guatemalan club Antigua G.F.C. on Friday, August 26th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are on sale now at www.hartfordathletic.com/friendly.
"We always strive to expand Trinity Health Stadium's status as a community hub and we are thrilled to do so by relaunching our series of international friendly matches," said Hartford Athletic CEO Jim Burda. "After great success in 2019, it became incredibly important to bring international matches back to Trinity Health Stadium. We are very happy to welcome Harbour View and Antigua and their many fans to the stadium in just a few weeks as we celebrate the many diverse cultures that make up our community."
Harbour View FC are the defending champions of the Jamaica Premier League, defeating Dunbeholden FC in PKs to win their fifth title since 2000. The "Stars of the East" have also won four JFF Island Wide Champions Cups and two CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championships.
Antigua G.F.C. will come to Hartford having just kicked off their 2022-2023 campaign. The club finished the 2021-2022 season in 6th place in Guatemala's top division, Liga Nacional. Antigua were champions of Guatemalan football for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017 and won for a fourth time in 2019.
This will be the third international soccer match played at the stadium in the past 3 years. Hartford Athletic hosted the Puerto Rico Men's National Team in August of 2019 and Jamaica Premier League side Portmore United FC visited for a friendly match two months later.
