Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (2-1) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as the team came away with the 7-3 win over the Everett AquaSox (1-2) Sunday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils scored five runs in the third inning to give the team a commanding lead.
Will Headean (1-0) was fantastic on the mound for Tri-City. Headean tossed five scoreless innings in his first start for the Dust Devils. He earned the victory after striking out eight batters and allowing only two hits.
Leadoff hitter Nate Easley had a strong night at the plate. Easley tripled in his first two at bats of the game and scored two runs. Alan Garcia delivered for the Dust Devils, collecting two doubles and driving in two runs.
Will Stillman and David Bednar came out of the bullpen in their professional debuts and combined to keep the AquaSox scoreless over the final three innings. Everett's only runs of the game came in the sixth inning, which were all unearned.
The Spokane Indians come to town Monday night to continue the opening homestand of the season. Right-hander Jordan Guerrero will start the first meeting of the three-game series. The Indians will counter with right-hander Luke Lanphere. It will be the first Coca Cola Monday of the season, where 22-ounce Coca-Cola products are only $1 all night long at Gesa Stadium.
