Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (11-8, 27-30) completed a sweep of the three-game series over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (9-10, 35-22) with a 4-1 win on Tuesday night. The Dust Devils have now won four in a row and eight of their last ten games.
The pitching staff was once again fabulous in the series finale.
Tri-City kept Salem-Keizer without a run until Armani Smith hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning.
Up until Smith's blast the Dust Devils had held the Volcanoes scoreless for the prior 23 innings. Logan Driscoll again produced at the plate for Tri-City. A night after driving in both of the team's runs on Monday, he had three RBIs on Tuesday to help the Dust Devils come away with their six straight win at home.
Tri-City will now hit the road for a six-game stretch away from Gesa Stadium. Left-hander Jason Blanchard will start the opener against the Everett AquaSox on Wednesday at Funko Field. The AquaSox will counter with former Cy Young Award winner Felix Hernandez. The Mariners hurler will be in Everett on a rehab appearance.
The Dust Devils will return home Tuesday, August 20th to begin a seven-game homestand. August 20th will be Ladies Night presented by Go Beyond Consulting at Gesa Stadium. Great seats are available by calling the team's office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
