Tri-City Storm Weekly: High-Shooting Storm Goes to Fargo
October 25, 2016 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Tri-City Storm News Release
After an off week, the Tri-City Storm travels to Fargo for a pair of games this Friday and Saturday. The Storm's "bye week" was its second fall break ever and first since October 2002. Tri-City has won consecutive games and sits at 4-4-0-1, good for nine points and sixth in the Western Conference. The Storm is four points back of conference-leading Des Moines.
Since the Tri-City's last game, the Storm added goaltender Eric Dop from Minot (NAHL) and Assistant Captain Brian Hawkinson returned from injured reserve.
The Storm's next home game is Friday, November 4 against the Omaha Lancers on Social Media Night, presented by the Nebraska Lottery.

Need to Know Shooting Prowess The Storm takes the most shots per game (33.3) in the league and allows the second fewest (24.6).
The shot-heavy theme has continued since the 2016 Clark Cup Playoffs, when Tri-City outshot opponents in eight of 11 postseason games. This season, the Storm has out-attempted foes in seven of nine contests.
Tri-City has had two of the three highest-shooting games this season (50, 46). Conversely, Tri-City has surrendered four combined shots in its last two third periods.
Cruising down the street (in my Limo) Alex Limoges has goals in four straight contests and points in five straight (5g, 2a), pushing the Storm's second-year forward to a team-best five goals and ten points in nine games.
Against Cedar Rapids on Friday, October 14, Limoges exploded with two goals and three points, his highest-scoring effort since Game 3 of the 2016 Clark Cup Final, when the Virginia native scored the game-winning goal in the deciding game.
To cap off the weekend, Limoges scored the tying goal early in the third and finished with two points Saturday against the Stars. Tri-City tallied halfway through the frame to break the tie and won, 4-3.
Limoges is tied with Philip Alftberg for a team-high three multi-point games. Limoges has scored 63 points in 63 USHL games, including postseason. He has had multi-point efforts in 14 of them, roughly every fifth contest.
