February 8, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

MUSKEGON, MI.--- The two-time defending Colonial Cup Champions of the United Hockey League and current league-leading Muskegon Fury have been gaining notice for their perennial on-ice prowess and overall excellence as an organization.

Significantly more validation of the Fury's success was accorded once again, today, when Director of Hockey Operations / Head Coach Todd Nelson announced that defenseman TREVOR JOHNSON has been summoned on loan to the American Hockey League's Cleveland Barons effective immediately.

Johnson, 24, is in his third full pro season and his fourth overall, having been originally acquired by the Fury as their number one draft choice and fifth selection overall in the March 2003 UHL North American Amateur Draft.

This 2005-06 campaign marked Johnson's second full year with Muskegon and his second separate stint in the Fury regalia following a season in 2004-05 in the ECHL.

Playing in all 43-games for the Fury thus far this season, the 5-10, 185lb native of Trail, B.C. is ranked a lofty third in the UHL in scoring among league defensemen with 40-total points on 7-goals, 33-assists with 66-PIM. Included in his premium numbers are 4-PPG, 1-GWG and an excellent +14 rating. Johnson's 33-assists also rank as third most in the league among the blue line brigade.

Johnson becomes the eighth member of the 2005-06 edition of the Fury to be summoned AHL-bound.

Another defenseman, Clay Wilson remains with the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins following his summoning in late November.

Other Fury players who have achieved such opportunity are goaltenders Kevin LaPointe (Grand Rapids), Clayton Pool (Iowa); defensemen Brett Angel (Grand Rapids), Jon Insana (Grand Rapids); center Jeff Nelson (Grand Rapids) and left wing Ryan Keller (Grand Rapids).
