QUOTES:
"The ability for Trent to stay focused and composed and making sure that he has his concentration on when that next shot comes was big. Most times it's easier for a goaltender when you're busier. A real credit to Trent who kept his focus and we needed him to stand tall and he did that." - Associate Coach Keith McCambridge on Trent Miner.
"We didn't cheat on the wrong side of the puck. We continued to push and generate Grade 'A' chances. You have to credit their goaltender, he made big saves for them. But the team overall to play the game with speed and execution and to not try and shade on the wrong side of the puck was a testament to our group." - Keith McCambridge on the takeaways from the game.
NOTES:
- Trent Miner has recorded back-to-back shutout victories for the first time in his WHL career.
- Five of Trent Miner's six career WHL shutouts have come against B.C. Division opponents. Two have come against Kelowna, and one each have come against Kamloops, Victoria, Prince George and Kootenay.
- The last time the Giants surrendered just 14 shots against was also a shutout victory. It came on Spetember 29th, 2019 - A 4-0 shutout victory for the Vancouver Giants (David Tendeck) over the Kelowna Rockets.
- Tristen Nielsen is now three-for-eight lifetime in shootouts.
