St. Cloud Rox News Release
(ST. CLOUD, MINN)- The St. Cloud Rox have announced that the Treasure Hunt That Rox has ended as Jason Becker found the ball early Monday morning.
The ball was hidden at Short Stop Restaurant located on 3rd Street where fans were lined up prior to the restaurant opening this morning.
"It was a very fun promotion for us." Scott Schreiner, Rox Vice President said. "We had a lot of phone calls and people inquiring about the hunt, they really had a lot of fun with it."
The contest started on May 7 and gave fans a chance to win some great prizes including the very first ceremonial first pitch at the Rox Home Opener on June 2, plus season tickets for the 2012 Inaugural Season. Clues were posted on the Rox Facebook page daily, and KCLD helped by announcing clues on their morning show throughout the week.
"I heard the clue this morning and instantly knew it was at Short Stop." Jason Becker said. "So I called my wife and told her I was going to find it, my son is going to love this!"
Becker was the first in line at Short Stop this morning, with a handful of other fans waiting just in case. This morning's clue was "A Common Cut-Off" which in baseball is commonly the short stop position.
Fans can get their first glimpse of the St. Cloud Rox on June 2 when they take on the Mankato MoonDogs at 7:05 pm for their Inaugural Home Opener featuring post-game fireworks, presented by Coborn's. Tickets are on-sale now at the Rox Ticket Office, by calling (320) 240-9798, or online at www.stcloudrox.com .
