Macon Trax News Release

It was like a Chicago election for the Macon Trax on Friday night, as they scored early and often, en route to a 6-1 victory over the Winston-Salem Parrots at the Centreplex.

The Trax built a 4-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game and never looked back. Tommy Stewart was again the scoring star for the Trax, netting his second hat trick of the season, and also adding an assist for the Trax. Jeremy Kyte, Corey Lucas, and Luke Murphy all had first period goals for the Trax as well. John gurskis scored Winston-Salem's lone goal with a minute left in the very busy first period.

Stewart, who took over the ACHL scoring lead on Thursday night completed his hat trick with two third period goals. He extended his scoring streak to 12 games and has 11 goals and 18 assists for 27 points in that stretch. He now also has nine straight games with at least two points.

The win wraps up a seven game home stand in which the Trax won six of the games (one in a shootout) collecting 11 of 14 possible points for a .786 winning percentage on the homestand. Macon now begins a 10 game road trip in Cape Fear on Saturday. That game can be heard on the internet at www.macontrax.com or www.IRN.FM starting at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The Trax will resume their hour long Hockey Happy Hour at Locos Deli & Pub on Monday February 24th at 6 p.m. This Monday the Trax play at Cape Fear. Season tickets for 2003-04 are now on sale.
