Trashers add veteran defenseman Ed Campbell

DANBURY, CT-The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL) have signed veteran defenseman Ed Campbell to a contract for the 2005-06 season, it was announced by Team President A.J. Galante. Campbell is expected to be in uniform for Wednesday's game against Roanoke.

Campbell, 31, started the season with Cleveland of the American Hockey League (AHL), where he added one assist in 12 games. This is Campbell's first foray into the UHL, although he previously played in Ft. Wayne when they were in the IHL from 1997-1999.

Last season he played 56 games in the AHL for Bridgeport and Milwaukee, having scored four points on one goal with 55 penalty minutes. During his ten-year career, Campbell has played in 642 regular season games with 28 goals and 116 assists for 144 points and 1,353 penalty minutes.

The Trashers will play four games in five nights this week, starting on Wednesday in Roanoke at 7:00pm, at Adirondack on Friday and Saturday at 7:35 and in Danbury against Fort Wayne next Sunday at 5:30pm.
