
Vipers Lead Trashed by Danbury as Roanoke Falls 5-4

ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), gained a quick 3-0 lead by the 0:29 mark of the second period, but the Trashers chopped slowly away to overcome two three-goal deficits and take the one-goal win over the Vipers.
David Beauregard scored at 7:16 of the first period off assists from Travis Smith and David Shillington to get the Vipers on the scoreboard. L.P. Martin would score his first of the night just over two minutes later at the 9:43 mark with the help of Jan Jas and Smith. Gray Shaneberger added to the Vipers' advantage as he fired a shot past Jayme Platt for his first goal of the season off a pass from Shillington, just 29 seconds into the start of the second period.
David Hymovitz took away the chance of a shutout from Jamie Hodson at 8:24 of the second. Martin would boost the Vipers' lead back to three goals, however at the 17:03 mark of the period off passes from Jas and Beauregard. That would be the last time the Trashers would hear from the Vipers' offense, as Danbury went onto score four unanswered goals. Hymovitz added his second of the game at 18:53 of the second, and Jean-Michel Daoust, Drew Omicioli, and Mike Omicioli added one apiece in the third with the game-tying and game-winning goals coming off the sticks of the Omicioli brothers at the 3:25 and 14:47 marks respectively.
