Transportation Plan for Soccer at Investors Group Field Unveiled

WINNIPEG, MB., May 5, 2014 - Canada Soccer and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are partnering to cover the cost of the free Fan Fare service to transport fans to Investors Group Field on Thursday, May 8, for the Canada vs. USA women's friendly soccer game.

Any fan holding a game ticket for the soccer match is eligible for the free Fan Fare transportation to the game, which includes Winnipeg Transit and the Park & Ride service.

"We're excited to support the fans coming to Investors Group Field for the soccer match by offering a reliable and safe option for transportation, which is also great for the environment," said Blue Bombers President and CEO Wade Miller.

For fans looking to drive to the game, on-campus parking will be available on the evening of the match beginning 90 minutes before the opening kickoff.

New for 2014, a $10.00 carpool lot off of University Crescent will be offered, which can be accessed by any vehicle containing three or more passengers. All other on-campus lots are $20.00. Drivers can pay with cash at the lots, or get their pass online at Ticketmaster.ca.

Bicycle racks are also available on the stadium footprint. Full details of the Transportation and Parking plan for the soccer match are available at bluebombers.com.

The partnership with Canada Soccer is a stop gap measure to ensure fans have affordable methods to get to the match while the WFC awaits a decision from City Council on the overall 2014 Event Day Transportation Plan.
