St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 1, 2008 - The following is the daily report for Day 2 of the Alouettes' 2008 training camp:

Duval practices his punts

Punter Damon Duval practiced punting today, picking up right where he left off last year as the league's top punter.

Two players released

Cornerback Chijioke Onyenegecha failed his medical and offensive tackle Julius Orieukwu was released.

Stala and Claybrooks back in action

Receiver Dave Stala and defensive tackle Devone Claybrooks are back on the active roster.

Newcomers

Five players were added to the roster today: Linebacker Barry Robertson, running back Brandon Whitaker, defensive tackle Aki Jones, defensive end Rodney Hardeway and receiver Larry Taylor.

Spectacular catch by Firr

Rookie receiver Terry Firr made a spectacular one-handed catch today. Danny Desriveaux, Éric Deslauriers and Elijah Thurmon also caught several balls.

Headshots

The players and staff had their media guide website photo shoot today. RDS and TSN were also onsite getting special footage of key players that will be aired during games this season.

Tomorrow's schedule

The team will hold split practice sessions tomorrow at the Campus du Fort St-Jean starting at 8:20 a.m. The second practice is scheduled for 3 p.m.
