Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 11, 2005 - The Alouettes continued training camp at Dollard-des-Ormeaux Park today. Here's a look at Day 14 of practice:
D.D.O.
The Alouettes practiced in Montreal at Dollard-des-Ormeaux Park in the West Island. About 500 fans came out to the practice which lasted from 10 a.m. to noon. After practice, the cheerleaders did a routine, the players were introduced and a picture and autograph session followed.
Interceptions x3
Free safeties Richard Karikari and Matthieu Proulx, and defensive back Reggie Durden each had an interception in today's practice.
A heated practice
The Alouettes practiced at a high tempo despite a nearly 30°C temperature.
Seven players released
The Alouettes announced the release of seven players: Fullback Graeme Bell, receiver Maurice Brown, rush end Mitchell Crossley, cornerback Mark Estelle, offensive tackle Jon Schall, running back Fred Talley, and defensive tackle Darrell Wright.
Next cuts
The Alouettes have to reduce their lineup to 50 players plus seven picks from the 2005 draft and two undrafted free agents by 11:59 p.m. this June 12.
According to Coach Matthews
"Running backs Ãric Lapointe and Michael Jenkins are both healthy and will get reps in Thursday's game in Ottawa."
