FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Thursday, June 5, 2014) - Toyota Stadium will play host to a friendly between Liga MX teams Club Leon and Santos Laguna on Sunday, July 6 at 5 p.m. CT, FC Dallas announced today.
All tickets for the match will be $28 general admission. Parking at the stadium is free. Fans can purchase at FCDallas.com or call 888.FCD.GOAL (323.4625).
Heading into its first CONCACAF Champions League tournament, the two-time defending Liga MX Champions, Leon will likely use the July 6 friendly as a tune-up match for its Group 7 opponents. Beginning in August, Leon will compete against Isidro Metapan (El Salvador) and Belmopan Bandits (Belize) for a chance to advance to the CCL quarterfinals, which kick off in early 2015.
The Leon roster features three players (Rafa Marquez, Jose Juan Vazquez and Carlos Pena) who will be competing with the Mexican National Team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Former Mexican National Team star Oswaldo Sanchez currently plays for Santos. The Santos Laguna captain was named the top goalkeeper in the 2012-2013 CONCACAF Champions League tournament.
