LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts, in conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced that outfielder Dwight Smith, Jr. has been promoted to Lansing from Extended Spring Training and infielder Shane Opitz has been activated from the 7-day Disabled List, with infielder Balbino Fuenmayor placed on the 7-day DL and outfielder Ronnie Melendez placed on the 7-day DL retroactive to April 23rd in a pair of corresponding moves. move.

Drafted 53rd overall in 2011 out of McIntosh High School in Florida, the 20-year-old Smith enters the season rated Baseball America's #14 prospect in the Blue Jays' organization.
