Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
Bowling Green, KY - Tommy Coyle recorded his third three-hit game of the season, but the Fort Wayne TinCaps (10-8) held on to beat the Bowling Green Hot Rods (14-5) 3-2 on Wednesday night at Bowling Green Ballpark. In the three-game series finale, The TinCaps scored all three of their runs off Blake Snell in the first inning. The Hot Rods three-game winning streak ends with the loss, as the team recorded a season-low four hits in the sweep-attempt.
Wildness from Fort Wayne starter Walker Weickel contributed to the first Hot Rods run in the bottom of the second. The Hot Rods drew consecutive walks to begin the inning. After a double steal placed runners at second and third base, Marty Gantt drove a ball to the wall in left field. Narrowly missing a home run, Gantt was still credited with a sacrifice fly.
Gantt tripled in the next Hot Rods run in the bottom of the fourth inning to bring the Hot Rods to within one run at 3-2. However, that was all the offense for the Hot Rods on Wednesday night. Both bullpens - Fort Wayne and Bowling Green - were brilliant, combining to allow four hits scattered over the game's final five innings.
Despite the loss, the Hot Rods still find themselves 8-2 at home and 14-5 overall to start the 2013 season. Entering play on Wednesday night, only the Atlanta Braves (15-5) and the Florida State League's Fort Myers Miracle (15-4) had more wins than the Hot Rods in all of affiliated baseball.

RHP Dylan Floro (1-0, 1.20) gets the start for the Hot Rods and will oppose Burlington's RHP Aaron Newcomb (0-0, 0.00).
