Fresno Grizzlies News Release

FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies, following a nine-day trip to New Orleans and Oklahoma City, return to the friendly confines of Chukchansi Park on Thursday, May 15th to open a huge, eight-game homestand against Colorado Springs and Salt Lake.

The Grizzlies' third homestand of the 2008 season begins with one of the most talked about sports promotions of the spring, 'Totally Rad 80's Night Featuring Billy Zabka', presented by Nestle. Zabka, an Oscar-nominated filmmaker, is perhaps best known for his 1980's movie roles including Johnny Lawrence in The Karate Kid. Zabka will sign autographs and participate in on-field entertainment on a night filled with 1980's music, imagery, trivia, and fashion.

Fans are encouraged to wear their most creative 80's outfit, and there will be prizes for the best of the best. Thursday, as always, is a Thirsty Thursday promotion presented by 104.1 'It Just Rocks', with $1 Tecate Light beers available until the 5th inning, and $1 sodas all night long.

On Friday, May 16th Fresno Grizzlies players and fans will be seeing pink! The Grizzlies will don pink jerseys in support of the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation for the second annual Pink at the Park. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Grizzlies' Orange-Out t-shirt, compliments of Rally's, while the first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative baseball courtesy of KISS Country. Immediately following the final out, fans will be treated to a fantastic Friday Night Fireworks show- presented by Bingham Toyota.

After the conclusion of fireworks, all of the game-worn pink Grizzlies jerseys will be up for grabs in a live auction. Proceeds from the jersey auction will go towards the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, which focuses on eradicating women's cancers and preventing domestic violence.

On Saturday, the first 2,500 Grizzlies' fans into Chukchansi Park will receive a t-shirt replica of the Fresno home-white jersey with Pat Misch's name and number 16 on the back, presented by Kellogg's and Save Mart Supermarkets. Misch, now in the starting rotation for the San Francisco Giants, garnered over 40% of an online vote to choose which player would be featured on the t-shirt jersey.

Sunday, May 18th, a Save Mart Sunday at the ballpark, will give fans an opportunity to see both the future and the past of San Francisco Giants' baseball. Will 'The Thrill' Clark will appear and sign autographs for fans thanks to Little Caesars. Clark was a six-time All-Star, and the MVP of the 1989 NLCS for the Giants. After Sunday's game, Del Taco gives kids the opportunity to run the bases at Chukchansi Park.

On Monday, May 19th, the Grizzlies welcome the Salt Lake Bees to Fresno. Fans can take advantage of the best deal in baseball, the Monday Madness package, presented by Wienerschnitzel. Two tickets, two hot dogs, two sodas, and two Island Waterpark passes, all for just $14.
