Daytona Tortugas News Release
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Daytona Tortugas' scheduled game on Friday evening against the Lakeland Flying Tigers at Jackie Robinson Ballpark has been postponed due to inclement weather.
As a result, tonight's rained out contest will be played as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, July 13, with gates opening at 4 p.m. ET and first pitch of game one scheduled for 5:05 p.m. Both games will be seven-inning affairs with a roughly 30-minute break in between contests. All tickets for tonight's postponed endeavor can be exchanged for tickets to another 2019 Daytona Tortugas' home game at the Tortugas' box office or by calling (386) 257-3172.
Patrons are encouraged to escape their "glass case of emotion" and head out to The Jack for Anchorman Night during a Shell-tastic Saturday. Daytona Beach is not advised to lay low for this one, as the first 1,000 fans through the gates on Saturday will receive a limited edition Nick "Brick" Senzel Bobblehead Giveaway. Don't act like you're not impressed by all the talent at the ballpark, as we also host our first-ever talent show with The Masked Singer Night! It will be a night full of entertainment and fun, as our "The Masked 386" will be judged by several local celebrities. Following the final out of the contest, those in attendance will be enthralled by yet another marvelous Postgame Fireworks show.
The Tortugas Pre-Game Show will kick off the broadcast at 4:50 p.m. ET, leading up to the 5:05 p.m. ET start at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Saturday evening's double-dip can be heard on www.daytonatortugas.com or via the TuneIn Radio and MiLB First Pitch apps.
Daytona is projected to hand the ball to RHP Austin Orewiler (5-7, 3.38 ERA) in the lid-lifter, while RHP Jared Solomon (0-4, 4.11 ERA) is expected to take the mound in the nightcap. The Flying Tigers are set to have RHP Jesús RodrÃguez (2-11, 5.66 ERA) grace the hill in game one and RHP Garrett Hill (2-3, 2.45 ERA) in game two.
Multi-game plans and single-game tickets are still currently available and can be purchased online at www.daytonatortugas.com, or by calling the Tortugas' Ticket Office at (386) 257-3172.
