
Torrid Ice 9-2-0 in Last 11

NORTHEAST YO-YO: The Indianapolis Ice concluded a four games in five nights stretch last week winning three of four games as the club gained victories against Fort Worth, Oklahoma City and Wichita. Indy, who is 9-2-0 in its last 11 games, fell out of first place on Saturday as the Memphis RiverKings defeated the Icemen 6-1. The Ice and "Kings" have now split the season series at three wins apiece and Indianapolis enters this week's play three points out of first place, but with three games in hand with Memphis. In addition to the games in hand, the Ice boasts the top winning percentage in the entire Northern Conference with a .662 clip.
ANOTHER SILVER MEDAL: Goaltender Shawn Silver was selected as the CHL's Goaltender of the Month for the month of December. The three-time CHL Goaltender of the Week recipient had a December to remember that included an 8-3-0 record, 1.90 GAA, one shutout and a .929 save percentage. He led all CHL goaltenders during the month in wins with five of his eight victories coming on the team's long, but successful road trip.
More Silver: Silver had his winning streak come to a close on Saturday, but not before he rattled off seven straight wins to go along with a 1.54 GAA, one shutout and a .939 save percentage. The seven-game stretch mirrored an earlier six-game win streak this year that included an 0.97 GAA, two shutouts and a .966 save percentage. The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario currently rests second in the league in GAA (1.87) and save percentage (.931) and is tied for third in wins (15) and shutouts (3).
THE LINE OF FIRE: The Ice outscored its opponents 19-10 in the four games last week with the majority of the damage coming from the line of Jason Baird, Kevin St. Jacques and Etienne Morin, who combined to rack up 25 points (9G, 16A) and a (+25) plus/minus. Baird, who has a goal in three straight contests, put up eight points (3G, 5A) and a (+8) plus/minus to go along with a power play goal and game-winning goal. St. Jacques, who registered an Ice season-high five points in the win at Fort Worth, led the line with 11 points (1G, 10A) to go along with a (+8) plus/minus. Morin led the line in goals with five which included the club's first hat trick of the year in last Tuesday's win at Fort Worth. He also notched a power play goal and a (+9) plus/minus.
PLAYER NOISE: Kevin St. Jacques, Jason Baird and Bernie John are all riding four-game point streaks...John has 11 points (3G, 8A) in his last eight games and ranks third among CHL d-men in assists (25)...Etienne Morin (12 goals) is third among CHL rookies in goals trailing only Laredo's Joey Sewell (21) and Odessa's Sebastian Thinel (15)...Jared Dumba has 19 points (11G, 8A) in his last 13 games... Randy Holmes is two goals shy of 200 for his pro career.
TEAM NOISE: The Ice is 11-0-4 against the Northwest Division this year and 4-0-0 against this week's Northwest foe, Wichita...The Ice hosts Odessa at home for the first time in franchise history...The Ice and Jackalopes met 12/20 in Odessa with the Ice earning a 2-1 shootout win...Indy is 15-3-1 when scoring the first goal...The Ice has registered a power play goal in eight of its last nine games (9-37, 24.3%)...Indy is second in the league in goals allowed/game (2.44) and first at home on the penalty kill (58/61, 95.1%).

* Jared Dumba burned his old team once again with a hat trick giving him five goals in two games against the Blazers...Jamie Morris was sharp in net with 34 saves.

* Shutout number three for Shawn Silver (16 saves), while five different players registered goals.
MEMPHIS HANDLES ICE 6-1
* Six different goal scorers and four power play goals were enough for Memphis...Jason Baird had the lone Ice tally.
