AUSTIN, TX (April 4) - The Austin Toros announced a trade today that sends center Anthony Fuqua to the Albuquerque Thunderbirds for forward Darvin Ham.
In his third season with the Toros, Fuqua averaged three points and three rebounds. The 6-11 University of Texas at San Antonio graduate averaged 13.4 minutes of play in 39 games.
Darvin Ham, a 6-7, 230 pound forward from Texas Tech University averaged 10 points and five rebounds with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in 43 games this season. Ham has spent time in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Bullets, Denver Nuggets, and Indiana Pacers. He has also played with the USBL and numerous international teams. Ham earned second team All-Southwest Conference honors as a senior at Texas Tech in 1996. Ham's talents include a stint as a NBA studio analyst for Fox Sports Southwest.
Ham will join the Toros on Sunday when they take on the Colorado 14ers in the first of a two-game road trip. He will wear jersey number 34 when the Toros return to Austin next week.
