
Toros Fall 4-1 in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (0-5-2) suffer a 4-1 loss on the road against Austin Bold FC (2-2-0) on Saturday night. Kembo Kibato scored his first professional goal while Ryan Coulter debuted tonight for the Toros - goalkeeper player/coach.
The Toros opened the scoring board as Carter Manley sent a cross inside the box in the 3rd minute. Kibato managed to link up with the cross and buried it to the right side of the goal, 1-0. Austin then equalized in the 27th minute after Jorge Troncoso sent a long cross connecting with Ismaila Jome where he sent a shot to the left post. Coulter attempted to save the shot but was not able to and conceded the equalizer 1-1.
Austin then earned a 2-1 lead after Ismaila Jome sent a cross inside the box allowing Alasanne Ates Diouf to strike sending the ball to the top crossbar in the 38th minute. Following a corner kick in the 68th minute, Jome sent a left footed shot from a distance to the back of the net earning his brace 3-1.
Billy Forbes ended the Copa Tejas matchup by sending a shot to the back of the net during stoppage time in the second half 4-1.
Robert Coronado threated Austin's goal after sending a left footed shot from outside the box but was saved in the bottom right corner in the 7th minute. After earning one yellow card, Coronado then conceded a bad foul which caused him to get ejected leaving the Toros with a 10-man squad.
In the second half, the Toros picked up the momentum but wasn't able to capitalize on the opportunities risen. Diego Restrepo was tested after Manley sent a cross inside the box, but no one was able to reach it.
In the 67th minute, Kleber struck but Manley denied the shot. Juan Carlos Obregon Jr. threatened Austin as he sent a long distance shot but Restrepo managed to save the shot in the right.
RGV FC ended the night with a total of six shots, three on target while winning 51.4% of duels faced. Austin totaled 19 shots, four on target while winning 48.6% duels.
Kyle Adams totaled eight clearances, two tackles, two interceptions and one block. Robert Castellanos totaled five clearances, three interceptions and four blocks. Obregon Jr. totaled two shots, one on target from off the bench.
