
Toros Coaching Staff Headed to Phoenix

AUSTIN, TX (February 13, 2009)- Austin Toros head coach Quin Snyder will head to Phoenix, Arizona today to coach the Blue All-Star Team in the third annual NBA D-League All-Star Game on Feb. 14 at the NBA's All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas.
Snyder and his coaching staff will face the Red All-Star Team coached by Iowa Energy head coach Nick Nurse. Assistant coach Wendell Alexis, athletic trainer Daisuke Yamaguchi, and Video Coordinator/Assistant Coach Taylor Jenkins will also make the trip to Phoenix as part of Snyder's coaching staff.
When asked about the all-star recognition Snyder commented, "More than anything this honor is representative of the players that I have had a chance to coach. I am grateful to them for competing as an unselfish unit and allowing me the opportunity to represent them."
In his second year with the Toros, Snyder has an overall record of 51-30 (.630) and has won the most games as a head coach in franchise history. Last season, the Toros made their first playoff appearance and first trip to the NBA D-League Finals under Snyder's direction.
Toros forward Marcus Williams will also make the trip to Phoenix this weekend. He replaces San Antonio assigned player, Malik Hairston. Williams averages 20.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 26 games this season.
The 2009 NBA D-League All-Star Game will tip off at 2 p.m. MT on Jam Session's Center Court and will be shown live on NBA TV.
