Many of the competitors will be visiting from international destinations, such as Japan, Norway, Mexico and Chile. The five-day event will determine the best teams worldwide and will feature more than 200 U.S. boys' and girls' teams, five international boys' teams and five international girls' teams. The Rawl Cup will be awarded annually to the winners of the tournament.

The event will give the participants a chance to experience another culture while interacting with foreign players of the same age. The event's theme, "Green Ball, Blue Planet" will also highlight the bj League's "Green Ball Project", a global initiative to increase awareness of sustainable energy resources. The tournament games will be played with custom-made green basketballs to symbolize the event organizers' commitment to this effort.

"The overall mission of the Rawl Cup is to provide a unique event where everyone speaks the universal language of sports. Our goal is to be on the forefront of national and international exposure events in Austin as well as to provide U.S. teams the opportunity to travel to other countries to gain travel experience and education," said Vince Rawl.

The NBA D-League's inaugural NBA D-League Green Week 2010 is March 28 through April 3.
