Toros, 66ers Complete Trade

GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 22, 2007 - The NBA Development League has approved a trade that will send Austin Toros forward Scott Merritt to Tulsa in exchange for 66ers guard Cheyne Gadson. Both Merritt (6-10, 240) and Gadson (6-2, 205) are D-League veterans.
From Marquette, Merritt has played in 21 games (17 starts) this season for Austin, averaging 26.3 minutes, 9.7 points and 6.7 rebounds. In 105 career D-League games with Columbus and Austin, Merritt has averaged 28.7 minutes, 11.4 points and 6.2 rebounds.
Gadson has played in 22 games (16 starts) and was Tulsa's second-leading scorer at 16.2 points per game. He also averaged 43.7 minutes, 3.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists. In 56 career D-League games with Huntsville and Tulsa, the Oklahoma State product has averaged 23.0 minutes, 10.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
Gadson is expected to be in uniform when the Toros (7-16) are host to Colorado (15-7) Wednesday at 11 a.m. CT. Merritt will make his 66ers (10-14) debut at home on Friday against Sioux Falls (15-9).
