CLOSING IN: The Idaho Stampede is closing in on the D-League record for consecutive victories after winning its 11th straight at Bakersfield on Sunday. The record dates back to the first season of D-League play when the Greenville Groove reeled off 15 consecutive wins between Feb. 10 and March 14, 2002.

THEY SAID IT: "Our organization felt like [the D-League assignment] would be a good opportunity to play, to get some minutes and see what it's like to be out there on the floor 30-35 minutes every day. How do you bounce back the next day? How do you keep yourself ready?" ... Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan recently told the Salt Lake Tribune on CJ Miles assignment to the Idaho Stampede.

SPEAKING OF CJ: Helping Idaho to its 11th straight win on Sunday, CJ Miles scored 20 points and converted 7-9 FGA, 4-5 from behind the three-point line. In six games since being assigned from the Jazz, Miles is averaging 31.2 minutes, 17.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

MAV CONNECTION: A pair of Dallas Mavericks currently on assignment to the Fort Worth Flyers are making the most of their time in the D-League. After 13 games with coach Sidney Moncrief's team, inside man Pops Mensah-Bonsu is the D-League's leading rebounder at 11.6 per game and is also chipping in 13.7 points and 1.2 blocks in 31.1 minutes. In three games, guard Jose Barea is averaging 33.3 minutes, 22.3 points, 8.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds.
