Toronto FC II News Release
Toronto FC announced today that the club has signed Toronto FC II and Academy product Stefan Kapor to a Major League Soccer (MLS) contract as a Homegrown player through 2029 with a club option for 2030. He will join Toronto FC's roster when his contract becomes effective on January 1, 2026.
"We are thrilled to promote Stefan to the First Team and continue our journey together in his young career," said Toronto FC General Manager Jason Hernandez. "Stef has been an exceptional young prospect within our club, and we look forward to his continued growth with us in a professional capacity. We would like to acknowledge the work done by our player pathway stakeholders to prepare Stef for the professional environment and we are looking forward to supporting his development at TFC."
Kapor becomes the 38th player in club history to sign for the First Team from the Toronto FC Academy and, at 16 years of age, is the second youngest player in club history to sign with the First Team. The Stoney Creek, Ontario native originally joined the TFC Academy as a 13-year-old in August 2022 and represented the Academy at the U-14, U-15, U-18 and U-19 levels. In April 2024, the defender captained the TFC Academy's U-15 team to a third-place finish in the Championship bracket at the 2024 Generation adidas Cup and was named to the tournament's Best XI team. Prior to the TFC Academy, Kapor spent six years playing youth soccer with Hamilton Serbians SC.
Kapor signed his first professional contract with Toronto FC II on February 28, 2025, after making his club debut against New York City FC II on September 11, 2024. The defender has made 13 appearances for TFC II, including 10 appearances (all starts) for the Young Reds during the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season.
Internationally, Kapor has represented Canada at the U-17 level, making his debut in a friendly against Costa Rica on November 15, 2024. In 2025, Kapor was named to the Canadian Men's U-17 National Team training camps in June and September in preparation for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
