Toronto FC Selects Lipscomb Forward Tyrese Spicer with First Overall Pick in MLS SuperDraft 2024 Presented by Adidas

NEW YORK - Toronto FC selected Lipscomb University forward Tyrese Spicer with the No. 1 overall pick in MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas just minutes ago. The player will be available to the media this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. ET in a virtual press conference.

A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Spicer was a standout forward at Lipscomb University, scoring 29 times and adding 18 assists in his 57-game collegiate career. In 2023, Spicer was named a United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-American after he led the ASUN Conference with 14 goals in 16 appearances, including a remarkable 10-game scoring streak. The attacker also earned MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist honors for his performances this season.

Additional players selected in MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas will be available to media via club-run virtual press conferences. MLS Communications will also offer media with a comprehensive rights-free package including soundbytes, headshots, photo and video assets, logos, and more.

The virtual player selection event, which consists of three rounds, is currently streaming live on MLS Season Pass. In addition to the live show, all three rounds of draft will be available on the MLS SuperDraft Tracker with updates for each selection available in real time.
