Tornadoes Take Middle Game

WORCESTER, MA - Nick Salotti hit a homerun and drove in two runs as the Worcester Tornadoes took game two of their weekend series against the Pittsfield Colonials by a 4-1 final.

The Tornadoes got on the board with two runs in the second on an Alex Trezza triple, scoring Tony Patane. That was followed by Salotti's first RBI of the night on a sac fly to plate Trezza for a 2-0 Worcester lead.

The Colonials got on the board in the fourth inning when Angel Molina cracked his first homer of the season, a solo shot to cut the lead to 2-1. The Tornadoes got the run back on Salotti's league leading 18th homer to go back up by two. Worcester added an insurance run in the eighth on a Chris Colabello sacrifice fly, driving home Abraham Nunez to go up 4-1.

The win went to Ryan Lobban (2-0) who struck out six over six innings. Tim Stronach (1-2) took the loss, going the first three for Pittsfield. The Colonials got good relief pitching from MacKenzie King who alloed just two runs over five innings.

The rubber game of the series will be on Sunday with David Qualben (3-4, 3.55) on the hill for Pittsfield against Kevin Cooper (3-2, 6.18) for Worcester.
