Game Notes: The Tornadoes, after winning their first home series of the season against Brockton, look to make it 2 in a row against Quebec. RHP Jon Hollis will make the start for Worcester. After being primarily used as a reliever when he signed with the team, he has started 3 straight. The team is 1-2 when Hollis starts and 2-7 if he appears in a game. His first start of the season was his best, going 5 innings and allowing 2 earned runs against the Sussex Skyhawks back on June 24th. His last start was against Quebec, allowing 7 earned runs and 7 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Overall on the season, Hollis has faced Les Capitales 4 times and has an ERA of 5.14 against them. For Quebec, lefty Troy Cate will get the nod. Cate has made two starts this season, one against the Rox and his latest against the Tornadoes. Against Brockton, he went 8 innings giving up 3 earned runs in the loss. He picked up his first win of the season against Worcester on July 6th, giving up just 2 runs (1 earned) in 5 innings of work.

Saturday: The Tornadoes, with an excellent start from Chris Farley and an 8-run 7th inning, were able to beat the Brockton Rox 12-5 for their first home series win of the season. DH Gordie Gronkowski was 3 for 5 with a solo homerun, double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI while 1B Chris Colabello was 2 for 5 with a homerun and 4 RBI's. 8 of the 9 Tornadoes starters got a hit while 5 of those 8 had multi-hit games. For the Rox, 1B Melvin Falu had a grand slam in the 8th and RP Josh Papelbon was the only pitcher to not allow a run in the game. Brockton pitchers Buster Lussier and Brad Hertzler were ejected in the 4th and 7th innings for arguing with the umpires, as was manager Chris Carminucci.

Tornadoes:

Offense: OF Ryan Crespi is 25 for 67 (.373) through his first 17 games with the team and his 4 homeruns puts him in second place, tied with IF Mark Minicozzi. 3B Chris Colabello leads the team with 6 homers, 28 RBI's, 29 runs scored, and 13 2-out hits. C Alex Trezza leads the team with 13 doubles and 17 2-strike hits. 1B Nick Salotti is second the team with 25 RBI's and first with 10 2-out RBI's.

Pitching: Tonight's starter Jon Hollis has 20 strikeouts, 14 walks, and opponents are batting .293 against him. He also has a WHIP of 1.563 and has 5.625 K's per 9 innings. RP/OF Rick Asadoorian is the only pitcher to not allow a homerun this season. He also has the highest K's per 9 innings with 15.75.
