
Tornadoes Announce Final Revised Schedule

Worcester, MA (May 14, 2005) â The Worcester Tornadoes today announced a final revised schedule for the team's inaugural season. The City of Worcester will celebrate its first professional baseball Opening Night in 71 years on Monday, June 6, at 7:05 p.m. The Tornadoes will welcome the rival Brockton Rox to their newly christened Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field, located on the campus of the College of the Holy Cross. Festivities and promotions surrounding Opening Night will be announced in the near future.
The Tornadoes will open the 2005 Can-Am League season with a doubleheader on Friday, May 27, against their in-state rivals from Lynn, the North Shore Spirit. The team will make an announcement next week about special ticket opportunities to watch the Tornadoes play their historic first game.
Following the doubleheader against North Shore, the Tornadoes will visit Brockton for a three-game series. The team will revisit Lynn for another four games versus the Spirit before returning to Worcester for Opening Night.
The Tornadoes inaugural season will consist of 92 games, 50 of which will be played at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field. The season runs through Labor Day weekend, with the final Tornadoes regular season home game on Sunday, August 28 against the New Haven County Cutters.
Individual game ticket sales for the Tornadoes inaugural season began on Wednesday, May 11, with fans purchasing tickets at a brisk pace. Five- and ten-game mini-packs, group tickets and birthday parties also went on sale that same date. The team is still selling season tickets for the Tornadoes inaugural season as well, which include all the perks and privileges of the Tornadoes Diamond Club.
