New Jersey Titans News Release

The New Jersey Titans are proud to announce the selections of Ethan Wongus, Dominick Rivelli, Nikita Meshcheryakov, and Matej Teply, along with Head Equipment Manager Jake Kapel as their representatives at the 2024 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. It is the first selection for all four players. The tournament will be held outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on February 6th and 7th, at the UPMC Mario Lemieux Sports Complex, the official practice facility of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and will be available to watch on NAHLtv.

"What a special achievement for each of these gentlemen. It speaks volumes about their work this season and throughout their hockey career up to this point," remarked New Jersey's General Manager and Head Coach Craig Doremus. "For Dom and Ethan, its a great opportunity to showcase their ability for college coaches. For Nikita and Matej, being committed to colleges already, its an opportunity to showcase their abilities for the NHL scouts in attendance while competing with all of the talented young men at the event. The NAHL does a spectacular job of providing it's players, coaches and staff members with a very unique, first class event on and off the ice."

Ethan Wongus is third on the team in scoring with 11 goals and 13 assists in 33 games played this season. A graduate of the New Jersey Titans Youth program, the Edmonton, Alberta native is skating in his third NAHL season, all with the Titans.

Dominick Rivelli previously played three seasons in the NAHL with the Wichita Falls/Oklahoma Warriors organization, before joining New Jersey this season. Leading the team with 13 goals, he is a veteran of over 100 NAHL games and was named Captain of the Titans in September.

Matej Teply leads New Jersey's defensemen in points, recording 4 goals and 21 assists in 26 games. His 25 points has him tied for 7th overall in defensive scoring across the league. The Stamford, Connecticut, native is skating in his second season for the Titans and is committed to the University of Vermont.

Nikita Meshcheryakov joined the Titans after the beginning of the season and has made an immediate impact, recording 11 goals and 9 assists in 24 games. A standout at the Northwood School (NY) last season, the big Russian centerman is committed to Princeton University.

Jake Kapel was named as the Head Equipment Manager of the New Jersey Titans at the beginning of the 2022-23 season. It is the second year in a row that Kapel has been selected as an equipment manager at the Top Prospects Tournament. A native of Jarvis, Ontario, Kapel is in his third season in the NAHL after beginning with the Jamestown Rebels.
